Supervision is exercised over a staff of sworn personnel primarily through subordinate supervisors.
Work involves participating in the preparation of the budget by recommending personnel and capital needs for a division; directing or personally investigating citizen complaints about Police personnel conduct and services; commanding the Police Department when assigned as duty Commander, by organizing and directing personnel and equipment during major events or emergencies; interacting with college organizations and representing the Police Department on various committees and boards; coordinating activities with other law enforcement agencies, and participating in various City wide projects and/or programs.
An Administration Lieutenant recommends comprehensive goals and objectives and is responsible for their implementation and results achieved.
This class is responsible for performing duties as required.
This person would conduct the following duties and additional ones as required by the Chief.
Duties and Responsibilities Process all new hire standardized paperwork with training and standards.
Assist the Captain in scheduling agency personnel and provide hands-on instruction throughout the year.
this person will have to provide instruction on all accreditation required courses for staff.
Coordinate staff involvement with the professional development program and head the team designed to evaluate performances.
Serve as an event coordinator and off duty manager.
Service as an incident commander in the absence of a higher-ranking officer Coordinate active shooter response and serve as the agency liaison for school safety with the Richmond County Department of Education.
Serve as liaison with the Richmond County School Police.
Liaison for all law enforcement agencies.
Serve as patrol commander in the absence of the patrol commander.
Responsible for the administration and updating of all mutual aid agreements.
Assist the Chief of Police with budget administration and planning.
Range Coordinator.
Serves as the Public Information Officer for the police department.
Back-up evidence custodian.
Represent the department at all college planning events.
Respond to and answer calls for service on the campus of Richmond Community College and assist with calls for service in the immediate area of the campus when needed.
Complete timely and accurate reports.
Enforce local ordinance, and state and federal law when required to do so.
Assist with evidence room management.
Complete assigned and mandated training as required.
Plan and organize work and allocate necessary resources to achieve established objectives, focus initiative and action appropriately on priorities and objectives.
