Security Monitoring Center Supervisor I.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The position of an Alarm Monitoring Representative (Dispatcher) monitors alarm signals and takes appropriate action(s) following set guidelines and procedures.
The Dispatcher's response time and accuracy in handling alarm signals is critical to life safety.
This position requires the ability to multi-task and react quickly to urgent and critical situations.
Procedures not handled timely and properly create a risk to a customer's property or life, as well as a financial and legal liability to the company.
II.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Frequently monitors signals received in the Monitor Center, which are communicated from the customer's alarm system.
Frequently places outgoing telephone calls to verify validity of alarm signals; Frequently dispatches appropriate authorities such as police, fire department and medical to customer locations when procedures dictate.
Frequently notifies specified individuals via telephone of an alarm or event according to customer-specific instructions.
Occasionally answers incoming telephone calls from customers inquiring about a prior alarm event.
Occasionally provide assistance to alarm installers, technicians or other any other authorized individual calling Monitor Center.
Frequently performs basic alarm support such as arming, disarming, and assisting in resetting alarms/ signals.
Frequently performs routine visual verification of alarm receiving equipment located inside the Monitoring Center to ensure proper working order.
Other duties as assigned.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
High school diploma or GED equivalent; Customer service and/or security experience; Working knowledge of computer terminals which includes typing and data entry IV.
EQUIPMENT:
Equipment and/or tool used to perform job functions Computer & Printer.
Multi-Line Telephone.
Multi-Purpose Copier V.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires sitting for long periods of time.
May not leave the building during shift.
The Monitoring Center is staffed 24/7/365 with 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Shift times are:
8 am - 8 pm; 4 pm - 4 am; 8 pm - 8 am.
Company dress code is business casual.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must have ability to work 12-hour shifts (day and/or night).
Position requires flexibility in order to take on many different types of tasks.
Ability to develop detailed work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to work with, and gain cooperation of, company employees and supervisors to help promote a team atmosphere.
Willingness to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to change easily.
Willingness to perform other tasks as assigned by management.
