This position is Monday-Friday with rotating Saturday hours.
Position responsibilities include:
assisting library patrons; issuing library cards; checking materials in & out; shelving books; fill patron hold requests; process ILL book requests; report and investigate missing and lost materials; process new materials such as DVDs and books on reserve; provide desk coverage, and other circulation duties as necessary.
Position Requirements:
The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively and have outstanding customer service experience.
Candidates must also have intermediate computer skills with knowledge of MS Office and Google Docs, a basic understanding of the Dewey Decimal system, the ability to work collaboratively and to be able to develop programs for adults & children, especially on short notice.
Emphasis will be on children's programming, as this person will direct Summer Reading at the branch.
Priority will be given to candidates with skills in public presentations and technology.
Previous library experience is also a plus.
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in library services, office support, or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience are required.
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
