Materials Supervisor

Job Description

The Materials Supervisor will direct and oversee all of the inventory control/material control activities with the goal of achieving a minimum of 95% absolute inventory accuracy and minimal shortages to meet established service levels. This position includes intercompany shipping, receiving, warehouse management, inventory control and data management. The Materials Supervisor will also be managing hourly personnel.



  • Achieve and Maintain 95% Absolute inventory accuracy



  • Direct process audits to determine root cause of material variances



  • Create formal documentation of inventory and material control processes and procedures



  • Accurate and complete stock and non stock receiving of incoming receipts



  • Timely put away and letdown of materials in racking and bulk areas



  • Timely and accurate inventory transaction entry and integrity



  • Determine root causes of parts shortages and implement permanent fixes.



  • Review of all excess and no demand inventory with appropriate dispositioning



  • Resolve quality issues with purchased materials and deploy corrective process improvements.



  • Active participant of New Product Development Process



  • Maintain leading edge knowledge of the Supply Chain Management function through continuous learning.



  • Accomplish special projects and other assignments/duties as required by management.



  • Ability to delegate and prioritize work tasks



  • Ability to assess staffing requirements

Job Requirements


Education:


Bachelor’s Degree in business, operations management or supply chain management or related field from an accredited college or university required


Experience:


5 + years of experience in manufacturing, purchasing and materials control, or an equivalent combination of education and experience


APICS certification is a plus


Skills:


Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.


Possess “Big Picture" Operations knowledge.


Must be able to work with all departments within RSI in order to be effective.


Excellent time management skills to manage high volume in a fast-paced environment.


Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.


Able to build productive relationships with suppliers and customers.


Team & people oriented, professional and displays a “can-do" attitude.


Skilled in using MSOffice/Windows in a networked PC environment.


Experience with the J.D. Edwards OneWorld ERP system desirable.


Ability to be flexible and calm under sometimes tense conditions.


Requires the ability to work well with all departments within RSI in order to be effective.


Must be able to lead and communicate effectively with customers, employees and suppliers in both a written and verbal format.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
